I know this isn't true fantasy football, but it doesn't belong in the main forum either. Anyone out here involved in GLB? look me up, JayKwaz is my name there. If anyone doesn't know what it is, check it out.

First of all, congratulations to Kila on winning the league, I'll make sure the champion tag is transferred
As for the main reasoning for this post/thread, I'm interested in what you think could be done better, I'll pull this thread up again when I set up the league for next year. I'll start off with some of the points I think should be revised and feel free to comment on those or add your own.
1. Expanding the playoffs
This was my first time doing a 12 team league and I think a four team playoff was way too small. Increasing the number of teams would increase interest throughout the season and generally make the league more competitive. I was in one league that had 10 teams and a six team playoff, the result was that every team was mathematically alive in the last week and every game involved a team fighting for a playoff spot. Ideally I'd like to expand the playoffs to 8 teams, but I think 6 teams is a minimum for a 12 team league. Please don't think I'm just saying this because I finished in 6th, I probably would have lost in the first round anyway, it really is to establish a more competitive league.
2. Fewer bench spots
Again, this is my first 12 team league and 7 bench spots meant there wasn't anyone on the waiver wire worth a damn which takes out a huge element of fantasy football. This would also increase competitiveness by making it more difficult to hold good players on your bench
Those are my main concerns, if you need a reminder of the specifics, here are the settings:

This is the official TGP Yahoo Fantasy Football League. Oochymp is running the official ESPN one, which you can see stickied at the top of this forum.
Please read all of the information below, for there is some important stuff to know.
The following are the 12 people that participated in this league last year:
1. Maverick
2. hawkyou3. Sgt. Steel
4. KiLaSix9
5. Coltzilla
6. seanbrock
7. conqueror47
8. jackhammerslam
9. RCrumRollTide09
10. Zack of Steel
11. NewBetterBucs
12. NYGIANTSFLYHIGH hawkyou, after you had found out you did not make the playoffs, you dropped your complete roster into the free agent wire. You will not be allowed to join my league this upcoming season. Whether or not oochymp will accept you, that is up to him. For this year's league, I will be enforcing punishments:
1. If you leave an
inactive/injured/bye week player on your starting roster, you will get a warning. I am an understanding guy, and under certain circumstances, you won't receive a warning. I.E: You refuse to let go of WR Steve Breaston, but all of your other WRs have bye weeks except the other starter, so you keep him on your bench and accept not getting any fantasy points for that position. If something like this is planned though (another example would be you going on vacation, etc),
you must tell me in advance. Otherwise, you will be issued a warning.
2. If you do the above
twice, you are kicked out of the league. For each week, I will set your team's roster and adjust the starters to whomever is projected to get the most points at their respective position. This way, you being an asshole does not screw up the rest of the league.
The scoring, settings, and positions are the same as last year:
http://i39.tinypic.com/2zgsqc4.jpghttp://i44.tinypic.com/208imb8.jpg_
I believe I have stated everything that is needed to be said. Returning members will have a week to return to this league for their spots, though. Besides that, it's first come first serve. So if the league is full and within a week, Zack of Steel wants his spot back in, the last new guy to post will be replaced.

I was aware that Pierre Thomas was going to be out week 1, but I just had to take him anyway, he was the BPA at the time, and he's just too awesome this year. Anyways.. the options to replace him at RB2 are the following:
Mike Bell (NO) - DET
Darren Sproles (SD) - @ OAK
LeSean McCoy (PHI) - @ CAR
Rashard Mendenhall (PIT) - TEN
My favorite is McCoy, and then Mendenhall.

What's the highlight of your fantasy season thus far?
For me the answer is easy. I got Brady the day before the TEN game from a disgruntled fan for Hasselbeck and Garçon. A 1st rounder for a 3rd and a FA. That made my power trio AP, Brady and Marshall. Amazingly I have good back ups too. I am +40 now in both my leagues. Blah blah. How about you?

So I figured it would be good to have some evaluation after you suggest someone sit or start a specific player. Basically If you tell someone to sit their best RB in favour of a matchup based pick and your call comes good. Post it on here and get some cred for it. Or on the flip side, if you screw up and someone loses because of your tip to sit their stud, own up and accept your shame.
My successes this week were suggesting:
Greg Jennings over Lee Evans
Beanie Wells over Felix Jones
Donald Driver over James Jones
Jason Snelling over Reggie Bush
Free agent over LJ or Marshawn Lynch
Cotchery over Roy Williams, Braylon Edwards and Coles
My failures:
Beanie Wells over Jason Snelling

I have two fantasy teams and have clinched spots in both leagues. My number one team has major issues though!
In week 15 my 3 receivers play the 1st, 6th and 12th ranked defenses against fantasy WR. If I make it through that week though my 3 WR's play the 32nd, 31st and 29th ranked teams. Of course I have to make it through.
I just dropped Matt Ryan my reserve QB and I'm considering picking up Ryan Fitzpatick in case Favre doesn't see action week 16. This is just crazy.
I also picked up Beanie Wells weeks ago knowing he has match ups against STL and DET weeks 15 and 16. I have Steven Jackson but I'm really concerned that come weeks 14, 15 and 16 he's gonna be really beat up and with tough games against TEN and ARI I don't know if he will hold up. Especially since the Rams have nothing to play for and will probably already be focusing on next season.
Who are your play-off sleepers?

It's the playoffs, and I need some quality points out of my players. I had f'n 5 from Forte and 3 from Brady. Mendenhall got shut down by the BROWNS, and Roddy White is getting 3 as well. I'm losing 77-27 and need a HUGE uplift in the 2nd half of all these games. These are good players having really really really ****ty days. GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES AND PLAY SOME FOOTBALL.

I have a 9-3 record in my 10 person fantasy league. Someone is giving me a run for my money in the division race, and I play that person this week. Therefore it's imperative I win. I am allowed to start 2 RBs. However, I have 4 very good ones to choose from, and it makes it quite difficult to do so. In your opinion which of these 4 should I start?

PPR League, and he has had two solid outings back to back, should I pick him up?
I like the thought but IDK who I would drop.
Dwayne Bowe - He is out for two more weeks, but has a good matchup for the first round of playoffs against the Browns...
Jerricho Cotchery - When he has played this year, he has been pretty consistent, usually around ten points per game.
Cadillac Williams - Has a couple favorable matchups where a flex play could be used...
Matt Cassell - Weeks 15 and 16 seem like good weeks to start him vs Buf and vs Cle, both have pretty poor defenses.
Cardinals D/ST - Got the Vikings this week, otherwise they have GREAT matchups in the playoff run.
Panthers D/ST - Only got them this week because they got SanFran, and I cant start the Cards against the Vikings. If I knew Britt would be around next week I would wait, but I cant be sure.
Julius Jones - I like his flex appeal, picked him up off of waivers, I would like to see how he does though now that Forsett has been playing well.
Felix Jones - Another FA pickup from last week before he had a good game on Thanksgiving. I like his flex appeal, especially if Marion Barber gets hurt, which he always seems to get a little dinged up.
Alex Smith - I like his week 16 matchup against Det, thats Championship week. I would rather have him that week than Cassell @ Cin and Big Ben vs Bal. He also has been playing well, so I dont know if I would be able to get him back next week when I drop Panthers D/ST.
I have undroppables, well I technically could drop them but I feel it would be retarded...
Ben Roethlisburger
Maurice Jones-Drew
Ray Rice
Reggie Wayne
Vincent Jackson
John Carlson - becuase there are no better TEs out there and because he is the only one on my roster
Lawrence Tynes - because he is the No4 kicker and I dont have a backup kicker....
Alex Smith would probably be my first choice, but IDK he does have a solid matchup this week, and IDK if I want to start Big Ben coming off of injury, playing a weak run defense like the Lions, I feel like they should give Mendenhall the ball all day...

Post any of your Fantasy team trades, rejected trades and/or thoughts on possible trades. It's getting to be that time where some owners may make some moves, or are thinking about making a move.
My most recent rejected trade:
I give up
Clinton Portis
Larry Fitzgerald
I get
Peyton Manning
The other owner declined this trade. In this league we start 2 QBs.

Adrian Peterson and T.O. (OR) John Carlson
for
Cedric Benson and Owen Daniels
I am getting Benson and Daniels... I desperately need a good TE, and have Steve Slaton and Ray Rice as depth at RB.

Ok I have a really big problem this week. I was already slim at RB but have been able to get by somewhat because I have Cedric Benson but he has a bye this week along with one of my other backs only leaving me Ahmad Bradshaw and Brian Westbrook who might not even play. There are no good backs in FA. I don't know what to do.

I have a dilemna. My two back up RB's are shaky as hell in Beanie Wells and Jamal Lewis and I have Cedric Benson off this week. I am pretty strong in the other areas.
QB: Rivers, Ryan
RB: Gore, Benson, Buckhalter, Lewis
WR: Fitzgerald, Manningham, Bowe
TE: Daniels
K: Prater
DT: Colts
Who should I play behind Gore this week?

I just gave up Pierre Thomas and Bernard Berrian, in return get Brian Westbrook, pending the two day review period. I was convinced Pierre Thomas wasn't going to kick it into beast mode anymore since they spread the ball so much and give Mike Bell way too much love. He's been injured and I just havn't seen enough to give me any confidence in him going forward. His value this year that caused me to draft him was just a few good performances at the end of last season where he piled a bunch of receptions and touchdowns right at the end.
Bernard Berrian has been a dissapointment. Right around 8ish points per week I think. Favre did not help his production like I had thought. Sure I would have kept him but to help upgrade my RBs he was worth the give.
I already have LeShaun McCoy on my bench, so I feel like I am ready to deal with Westbrook's injuries and what-not. Westbrook won't pile on tons of carries but he'll get enough points especially in the recieving game to be a nice #2 back.
Here is my updated starting roster:
QB - Tom Brady
WR - Roddy White
WR - Eddie Royal
RB - Matt Forte
RB - Brian Westbrook
TE - Jason Witten
Flex - Rashard Mendenhall
K - Carney
D - Packers
2nd reciever is obviously my weak point. Austin Collie is my best benched reciever now. But I feel like I have enough guys on my team who can single-handedly win me games. Last week Tom Brady racked up 40 points with his 4 TDs. Brian Westbrook has been known to have 150 total yard games with multiple TDs. Matt Forte was a similar version of Westbrook last year. Roddy White piled on 200 recieving yards and a pair of TDs two weeks ago.
