SteVo+ 3,702 Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) With the first week of the 2012 NFL season just around the corner, TGP's annual bookie contest is set to begin. All preseason books are now officially null and void, and all points have been reset. The following is a list of information and details regarding this year's contest. Every member begins the season with 1,000 bookie points. No "re-buys" are allowed, so once all your points are gone, you can no longer make any bets. To see how many points you have, click the "Points" tab at the top of the forums page, located next to the "Arcade" tab. The member with the most points at the end of the season will get an awards badge displaying, "Bookie Champion 2012," Betting for all books closes approximately ten minutes before game time; an entire week's books do not close all at once. A week's books will not be paid until all games for that week have been played, almost always Monday night. This is done so that members cannot get paid for winning a bet on an earlier game, then bet the winnings on a later game. To place a bet, enter the amount of points you would like to bet in the column labeled Stake. Ignore the Odds column; odds for both teams are set at 2:1 so that betting x amount of points on the winning team yields a winning of 2x points. Always keep in mind you are betting against the spread. Please use this thread for any general comments or questions about the bookie. Vin+ 3,121 Posted September 19, 2012 We're going to consolidate all of the bookie threads with the gameday threads. We'll see how things go and if it works for everyone we'll stick with it since it'll clean things up a bit. If not, we'll go back to the way things were.
