Per Rotoworld.com:

Quote

Jets agreed to terms with SS LaRon Landry on a one-year, $4 million contract.
The one-year deal suggests teams were awfully leery of Landry's Achilles holding up after eschewing Redskins doctor's advice to undergo surgery. Entering free agency with a nearly bare cupboard at the position, the Jets now have Landry as a hard-hitting strong safety and Antonio Cromartie hinting that a free safety move could be in his future. The next step is to draft a pass-rushing outside linebacker. Mar 19 - 3:12 PM

Good move though with Landry's size now surely he's the OLB they needed and they can draft a safety
Thanks to BK

I'm surprised he only got a one year deal, but I guess his injury history scared teams off

Yeah, he's missed a total of 15 games or so the last two years.

Per Rotoworld.com:

Quote

A league source tells Mac's Football Blog SS LaRon Landry's one-year deal with the Jets prohibits the franchise or transition tag from being placed on him in 2013.
It makes Landry's one-year, incentive-driven $3.5 million pact a true "prove it" deal. It also puts him in line for a much bigger payday next offseason if he can finally stay healthy and return to the dominant form he was beginning to display before injury cost him a combined 15 games the past two years. The bulk of Landry's deal with the Jets is tied to bonuses he'll get for each week he's on the active roster. Mar 27 - 6:08 PM

The more I continue to think about this the more I realize that if he ends up staying healthy all season he's going to make the Jets' FO look like absolute genious'.

Jets are going to be one interesting team next year. Their defense should be solid and carry them throughout the season..along with special teams...but that offense still lacks alot.
