Holy crap. Holtby is saving us, despite the fact that we're getting murdered in shots on goal, we're up 2-1 at the end of the second. Some absolutely fantastic saves, though it could be 3 or 4-1 if Ovechkin and Wideman hadn't wasted a couple of beautiful setups.

yeah, I wouldn't try to say his playoff reputation is unearned, but he's been anything but lazy in this series

that's an understatement, if Holtby has even just a good game there's no way we win that game

What did shots end up being, 45-23 or something like that? We can't do that again.

45-21, with only 3 shots in the third, that cannot happen and unfortunately it appears to be representative of Hunter's system, anytime we have a lead we fall back on our heels, and that won't work long term, that type of game we'll lose nine times out of ten, fortunately tonight was in the other ten percent

That was huge to win without Backstrom and having to go back to Boston next game.

But yeah, sitting on a lead like that... stupid.

Reminds me of John Fox in Carolina in 09 and 10. Not that we had many leads in '10, lol.

Wow, did the Capitals dodge a bullet there! Like oochymp said, they can't keep sitting on leads like that! Lucky for them it worked out this time!

This has been a great series so far!

I don't see how anyone could be watching these playoffs and not be enjoying them. Just some great hockey.

Except the Flyers/Pens series. They have great offense, at least. :p

It's a shame, because the offense and intensity of the series has been fantastic. If both teams had goalies who were playing above the level of dog shit, it'd be some great hockey.

And at any rate, it'll all be over tomorrow night anyway, so no worries. :D

You seem pretty confident of that when the Pens just scored 10 on you last night. :p

Wasn't it a Flyers/Pens series where the Flyers came back from being down 3-0?

I'm half-trolling; I'm honestly not that confident and fully recognize that this one could go seven games.

And no, it was against the Bruins.

Eh I don't see that happening this time.

But your goalie better step up if you want to get past whoever you play next.

I expect neither our defense nor Bryzgalov to improve. We're toast in the semi-finals, and I'm fine with it. As long as we beat the fucking Penguins. :shifty:

well done whoever put together the playoff schedule:

Game 3 in DC: Monday
Game 4 in DC: Thursday
Game 5 in Boston: Saturday
Game 6 in DC: Sunday

so we get two days off with no travel then a back to back with travel, obviously both teams are on the same schedule, so it shouldn't have that much of an competitive effect, but it is a little bizarre

seanbrock  : (25 May 2013 - 10:52 PM) I like the Spurs
seanbrock  : (25 May 2013 - 10:52 PM) Every team in the NBA playoffs gets touchy calls
seanbrock  : (25 May 2013 - 10:52 PM) not just the Spurs.

McTater  : (25 May 2013 - 10:58 PM) :cheesehead:
seanbrock  : (25 May 2013 - 10:58 PM) Shaq is an egotistical asshole, just like Kobe, but Duncan is a quiet, humble team player who comes to play when it matters most
