You look at that 49ers front 7 alone and you shit broken spinal vertebrae...49ers will by far have the best defense this year.

We should have the best D. Every starter from 2011 will be the same in 2012.

Question is, how long can Justin Smith keep playing like this?

49ers, Steelers, and Texans go 1,2,3 on defense this year IMO.

Without Suggs I don't like the Ravens, but I don't want to take the obvious choice...

I'll say the Panthers, they come back healthy and get some improvement in that interior DL, and they've got all they need. (But probably the 49ers)

I don't see Frisco taking it again this year. I actually have to say I like the Texans. Year 2 under Wade. A lot of young guys got experience and they're not in sort of a mini transition like the Steelers.

I'll side with Brock here. Love Houston's defense even with the loss of Mario Williams. Pretty promising group. IIRC, Watt and Reed absolutely tore Baltimore's o-line a new asshole in the Divisional game in January. And they were rookies. A sick front seven to go along with a pretty stout secondary.

o_O?

That's a rather... bold statement.

OT: Niners, there is no reason to think otherwise at this point.

I went with the 49ers. All their defensive players are returning and just looking at their front 7 scares the shit out of me. Almost impossible to run on that unit.

I think the Steelers will be right behind them though.

Comradery is more important than the casual fan realizes, so I have to say its huge how many people the 49ers and Texans are bringing back to their starting units.

I have:

1. 49ers
2. Texans
3. Bears

Seahawks will be top 5 this year with an increased pass rush and even more turnovers.

The 49ers do not make me as worried as the Steelers or Ravens. Maybe thats just history and gut feeling.

49ers. Willis, Bowman, I could go on and on. That Front 7 is scary, hands down the best in Football.

Panthers could have a good D next year, but the best in football? No way.

I like the 49ers the most, although I'm not convinced their secondary still won't pull the defense down.
