2011:
Yards
Welker-1569 (98.1 Y/G)
Smith-1394 (87.1 Y/G)
TDs
Welker-9
Smith-7
Catches
Welker-122
Smith-79
2010:
Yards
Welker-848 (56.5 Y/G)
Smith-554 (39.6 Y/G)
TDs
Welker-7
Smith-2
Catches
Welker-86
Smith-46
Yes I know Smith's QBs sucked in '10..but in '11 his QB was pretty damn good and Welker's numbers were still better. So how is this not even a debate lol?

Smith's versatility, if nothing else puts him well above Welker.
You put Welker at the X or y and his production probably takes a considerable dip.
You put Smith at the x or y, and you get what you've been getting with him his whole career. You put him in the slot, and you wouldn't get all that much of a production dip in comparison to Welker.

You can put Smith in the slot or as a #1 WR and he will still produce big time. He is a good deep threat and can catch passes underneath.
Before last season when Smith went off, he had been getting very underrated by most NFL fans.

Agreed.
As far as numbers go, Welker has Tom Brady throwing to him. I don't care how overhyped Cam has gotten, he is no Tom Brady. Not to mention, Welker is a slot receiver. He doesn't go up and make the catches in coverage. He's a great receiver, don't get me wrong, but he's not as good as Steve Smith, no way.

And he's younger... if we were talking about both when they were in their prime, then Smith, but now Welker, and lol Ware
