According to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, A.J. Jenkins "looked like one of the worst receivers on the field" during mandatory June minicamp.
We previously heard Jenkins was having an nondescript OTA, but there now appears to be at least four receivers ahead of him on the depth chart. The Press Democrat notes that Jenkins was rarely on the field with the second-team offense, and ''made less impressive plays'' than UDFAs Nathan Palmer and Bryan Tyms. Kyle Williams ''looked like the third best receiver'' behind Michael Crabtree and Randy Moss.

What a surprise, a huge reach at the end of the first round looks like a complete bust?

I honestly had him pegged for the 3rd-4th round until the late draft buzz that his stock was picking up and that the Rams really wanted him. Doesn't mean he sucks, he was really productive in college. I also won't put anything into OTA talk, let him show something in a game first.

He is small and needs time to adjust. Just because he can't make better catches than Moss, Crab and Manningham doesn't means he is a bust. You dumb asses use that term way too much to get anything even resembling respect from those of us that actually use our brain.

Before getting defensive you might want to read more articles on him. He isn't just not as good as those 3 guys, he's been reported as looking like the worst WR in camp, including other rookies, probably because unlike them he showed up out of shape. According to Matt Barrows he's been struggling to even stay on his feet during non-contact. That doesn't mean he's a bust, but it's also not common for a rookie to get a bunch of bad reports and actually still manage to have a good season. This should be expected though, they reached on a guy many thought wasn't even a top-5 talent at his position before the draft just because he had a good combine. I never thought the guy was anything more than a slot receiver, and that's probably where he'll end up on the field.

You know, at one time it was a "norm" to be near the bottom of the depth chart entering camp as a rookie. Now days when that happens, the screams are "bust". It might take him a little while to catch on but I think he'll turn out fine. Let's not forget that this is just camp and unless he is cut, nothing is set. Besides, if Moss is looking as good as they say he is then it will only do him even better (AJ Jenkins) that he sits behind him and learns.

I wouldn't put much stock into anything this early. He's a burner, and he came to OTAs outa shape.

Someone said I'm not exactly endearing myself to the new community. Here's one for you, Mr. stupid. Community is a STATUS, not a place. I am not a Communist, therefore I don't have any desire whatsoever to be a member of any Commune or try to have community with you and your fellow Communists. I also think it impossible for me to care any less about your negative votes. I came here to see what the site was all about. After reading some posts and making a few posts it turns out to be the same as 99% of all the other sites on the net: Full of stupid fascist debt slaves that play the "belief" game instead of KNOWING.

Pathetic. The world is doomed to repeat history because 95% of you ignorant slaves are spending way too much time on mindless entertainment instead of reading something that could change the world for the better. "To hell with trying to stop President Osama from destroying America, lets watch hockey"! I know, reading hurts you, because you cannot fully comprehend what you read anyway. Don't worry. You'll be surrounded by friends in the food lines soon enough, debt slave.

Thanks for spewing your vagina blood all over this site. If you get this worked out about messgae boards and the internet for that matter.... Well I only can tell that life is going to be rough for you. As to thread, AJ has looked worse than ALL wide outs in traning camp so that includes crabtree and kyle williams and all the other late rd / udfa wr the 49ers have signed..

And wow, no other site let you spew your conspiracy crap without calling you out on it either? Big shocker there.

Per Rotoworld.com:

Quote

CSN Bay Area believes first-round WR A.J. Jenkins could be frequently inactive on game days.
Trusted beat writer Matt Maiocco finds it "difficult to believe" that Jenkins could carve out a role opposite Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss and Mario Manningham, and believes his value as a first-round pick will be "measured over the course of his four-year deal." We agree, and have Jenkins as the No. 92 wideout in our initial rankings. He won't make an impact in redraft leagues. Jul 13 - 12:13 PM

Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:18 AM) A couple weeks ago I came in to pick up a few hours in the morning, but I was scheduled to have the day off. I didn't even ask for Sundays off really, but normally they give it to me
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:19 AM) I'm pretty annoyed I gotta work Sunday and to make it worse, its my longest shift of the week 7:45 am to 2:30 pm
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 12:21 AM) Drink some coffee.
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 12:21 AM) :coffee:
Favre4Ever+  : (26 May 2013 - 12:22 AM) Ya, I will be gone 11 - 9 or so
Favre4Ever+  : (26 May 2013 - 12:22 AM) Gonna suck ass
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:23 AM) i dont drink coffee
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 12:23 AM) You will eventually.
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:23 AM) My hours are down and im spending money foolishly, so I gotta be somewhat happy I'm getting an 8 hour shift
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 12:23 AM) :smug:
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:24 AM) I get a lot of 4 hour shifts lately, and my days of getting 35-39 hours every week are gone. I'm getting around 22-26 now
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:25 AM) ive been happy with more free time and I'm also getting some later day shifts allowing me to sleep in, so im struggling with my morning shifts now lol
Favre4Ever+  : (26 May 2013 - 12:35 AM) Ya, I never drank coffee. It's been growing on me though
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:35 AM) I can't stand the taste tbh
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:36 AM) I can't do energy drinks either, I crash easily
Favre4Ever+  : (26 May 2013 - 12:36 AM) Energy drinks are dumb. lol. I do drink them though if I really need a quick boost
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 12:37 AM) I drink mostly cappuccino now, but I was a big coffee drinker years ago.
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:37 AM) My friend loves Monster, but that shit is the worst at making me crash
dutchff7  : (26 May 2013 - 12:37 AM) Coffee leaves a nasty after taste. I prefer cappuccinos
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 12:38 AM) lmaoJamieDukes
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 12:39 AM) Yeah, coffee can leave a nasty aftertaste in your mouth, especially if you drink it black like I did.
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 12:39 AM) He thinks DeMarco Murray and Darren McFadden are better than Doug Martin
dutchff7  : (26 May 2013 - 12:41 AM) I didn't have it black. Had some irish creme
dutchff7  : (26 May 2013 - 12:42 AM) If McFadden can stay healthy. I think he could be a beast. Same with Murray tbh.
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:43 AM) Darren McFadden is pretty good, but he hasnt lived up to the hype he once had
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 12:43 AM) Yeah, the biggest issue with that is IF both Murray and McFadden can stay healthy.
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 12:44 AM) But they can't. When healthy, though, it's not a stretch to say they're better, IMO.
dutchff7  : (26 May 2013 - 12:45 AM) Murray showed some flashes the last two seasons; serious flashes. But Doug put together a season that neither of them had yet
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:45 AM) I remember how amazing McFadden was at Arkansas
dutchff7  : (26 May 2013 - 12:45 AM) I think McFadden could be a top RB in this league if he stayed healthy imo.
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 12:48 AM) I agree
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 12:48 AM) McFadden would be awesome if he could stay healthy, but he has shown us that he cant
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:54 AM) my brother just told me that Jeff Demps goes into the Chick-fil-a he works at all the time
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:55 AM) He needs to tell him to stop doing track and play football like a man :smug:
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 12:55 AM) lol
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:56 AM) I know he works out the sports facility right by my house sometimes. I hope he ends up playing football this year, because I'd love to have a legit local guy playing on the Bucs
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:58 AM) I see him cut before training camp though. Doubt Schiano wastes a roster spot on a guy not comitted to football
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 12:58 AM) I doubt he plays for us
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 12:59 AM) He's committed to track
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 12:59 AM) I think he could be a handy player if he was serious about football
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 01:04 AM) He'd be great for returns
RogerGoodell...  : (26 May 2013 - 01:04 AM) Not sure how good he'd be at anything else
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 01:06 AM) I said he'd be handy, not an elite player or anything
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 01:15 AM) Suns reportedly are going to hire Jeff Hornacek as HC
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 01:15 AM) Hornacek ....
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 01:16 AM) There's a blast from the past.
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 01:16 AM) I remember him being an awesome 3-pt shooter back in his playing days.
Milla4Prez63  : (26 May 2013 - 01:18 AM) better than Mike Brown :smug:
BLUE  : (26 May 2013 - 01:24 AM) >_>
Favre4Ever+  : (26 May 2013 - 01:32 AM) Lindsey Hunter experiment over already... ? >_>
