Even with Adrian Peterson being gone for a few games, they've statistically gotten better on offense. They should have a solid offensive line (Phil Loadholt for example and the addition of Matt Kalil should help turn this into a solid offensive line again) and the additions of Josh Robinson, Jarius Wright and Rhett Ellison should help restore the horrid passing game as well. If all of these people can stay healthy, then perhaps they can get something going. It will take time for an extremely young defense to improve though.
Week 1=The Minnesota Vikings beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-27 for a 1-0 record.

Week 8=The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-24 for a 2-6 record.
Week 9=The Seattle Seahawks beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-10 for a 2-7 record.
Week 10=The Minnesota Vikings cream the Detroit Lions 27-10 for a 3-7 record.
Week 11=The Chicago Bears beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-13 for a 3-8 record.
Week 12=The Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 31-27 for a 3-9 record.
Week 13=The Chicago Bears beat the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 in overtime for a 3-10 record.
Week 14=The Minnesota Vikings beat the St. Louis Rams 17-7 for a 4-10 record.
Week 15=The Houston Texans beat the Minnesota Vikings 30-24 in overtime for a 4-11 record.

Not at all sold on Ponder, and he doesn't have the talent around him skill position wise, nor does he have the line to protect him from some of the pass rushers in the NFC North.
Defensively they'll be better. But their passing defense was pretty awful last year, and didn't do much to make it better.

I'm actually excited for this team. I think they'll surprise a lot of people. No playoffs yet, but I could see an 8-8 or 9-7 record. I expect them to beat Detroit at least once (they always play the Lions tough--could be to the Lions as the Redskins were to the Giants last year) and maybe upset Chicago or Green Bay once.

When Ponder played well last year, he looked poised--like a seasoned vet. I expect him to be much better this year. He showed a lot of promise.

7-9, as long as they mix is up with Gerhart and Peterson in the run game and keep their best receiving options on the field at all times (dafuq is up with keeping Harvin and Rudolph out of red zone packages?) They've got a good team, and they should surprise with a somewhat weaker schedule to work with.
Warning, Opinions may be included.
