Panthers are actually 4-4 at week 9, as they have had a bye.

I LOVE that you have the Cowboys going 8-8 for the 4th straight year, but this time its enough to win the division. Would be funny.

can't wait to bump this at the end of the season and get to point out how badly Vin and Dmac underestimate the Titans, I do find it amusing that Vin has us starting 0-11 then winning the last five, interesting to say the least, also Razor, the Jags sweeping the Titans? really?

It's retribution for 1999 when the Titans cheated their way to victory (apparently. Eddie George and that D was pretty sick though).

It's more likely they split but... you never know.

I came away seeing best scenario of 7-9 or 8-8. I'm expecting between 2-14 and 5-11 though.

we were 7-9 last year with a shaky QB situation and we improved in our worst area: coaching, the only way I see us finishing under .500 this year is if Locker gets hurt and we have to go to Whitehurst or Mettenberger for an extended period of time, and even then I wouldn't be surprised to see us come up with 6-7 wins

1. Kenny is a great coach, so they have that going for them.

2. They underachieved last year, so they should flex the other way this year with a new staff in place.

So don't be too surprised if they bounce back, they aren't stuck playing the NFC West death trap again.

About Lockers' health though, he's hasn't started a full season yet. So that's a strike against them. Dunno if Christhurst can compensate, but Mettenberger might.

Eh, I'm not confident about Mettenberger either, but at least he has the benefit of doubt.

The team has an all-around lack of skill position guys on offense with the exception of Wright. Good O-line though. Good D-line. All-around I'm just not set on their talent level though. The way I look at them is a more talented Jacksonville. No QB (Locker is glass). No true RB. One true WR threat and others with potential. Only thing is Tennessee has great O-Line and better defense. Titans are lucky to have a generous division. It is the only reason they could make playoffs.

7-9. Let's take a look at the wins.

8-8 Steelers.

9-7 Chargers.

8-8 Jets.

7-9 Rams. (Missing Bradford.)

4-12 Raiders.

4-12 Jags.

2-14 Texans.

Against teams over .500 they were 1-7.

Titans are a cupcake bruiser who were lucky to even get the wins they did against bad teams. Jags should pull a split series this year too.

Chiefs 0-1. (0-1) < IMO

Cowboys 0-2 (0-2)

Bengals 0-3 (0-3)

Colts 0-4 (0-4)

Browns 0-5/1-4 (0-5)

Jags 1-5/2-4 (1-5)

Skins 1-6 to 3-4 (2-5)

Texans 2-6 to 4-4 (3-5)

Ravens 2-7 to 5-4 (3-6)

Steelers 2-8 to 6-4 (3-7)

Eagles 2-9 to 6-5 (3-8)

Texans 2-10 to 6-6 (3-9)

Giants 2-11 to 6-7 (3-10)

Jets 2-12 to 7-7 (3-11)

Jaguars 2-13 to 8-7 (3-12)

Colts 2-14 to 8-8 (3-13)

really? can you actually back that up or are you just talking out of your ass?

we've got probably the best group of three WRs we've had in Tennessee in Wright, Washington (one of the most underrated slot receivers in the league) and Hunter, we've got a very good Swiss army knife type TE in Walker (who I'm hoping Whisenhunt, as a former TE, can make better use of) and a very good group of RBs in Sankey, McCluster, and Greene, sure none of the three would be great on their own, but that's the great thing about a RBBC, they all bring different and complementary elements to the game, QB is definitely a question mark, which is why I gave the qualifier of Locker staying healthy, but again, this is largely the same team (with a better coach) that went 7-9 with Locker out more than half the year, granted I'm not as confident in Whitehurst as I was in Fitzpatrick, but I'm restating myself again

Talking out my ass to an extent. Hunter is still vastly unproven. Washington is a solid #3 though. Sankey is a wild card since he's a rookie. Greene is a hammer. McCluster is a below average jack of all trades. If Sankey succeeds, the RBs succeed. If he fails, the RBs fail. If Locker is healthy they can go 8-8 in a good season. If not, they will fall between 2-14 and 6-10.

so three of our seven wins were against teams that finished with a better record than us, curious definition of "cupcake bruiser," every team plays bad teams in the NFL and consistently beating them is the first step toward success

and while we're looking at opponents, lets take a look at who we lost to:

I'll give you the Texans and Jags, horrible losses by any measure, but I will point out that divisional games come down to coaching, where we've made a huge improvement

after those two we had KC (11 wins) Seattle (13) San Fransisco (12) Arizona (10) Denver (13) and Indy (11) twice, could you really expect a middle of the road team (which is where I would argue the Titans are) to win in any of those seven games?

breaking it down by opponent ability, we were 0-7 in games we should lose, 3-2 in games we should have won, and 4-0 in the toss up games

I also like how you were nice enough to point out that Bradford was out when we beat St. Louis while ignoring the fact that we relied a backup QB in seven of our nine losses

I'm gonna just put it the simple way. If Locker starts, you guys win. If Locker is hurt, you are at the bottom of the food chain again. Sometimes the QB position is overvalued, but with the Titans it will decide the year by an easy 4-6 games.

The Bradford comment is because he usually isn't out. Locker is.

Definitely gonna be interesting to see if Locker doesn't get hurt this year. The most games he's ever played in a season is 11. HUGE year for him (as said in the other thread about the QBs.)
