oochymp 2,393 Posted September 4, 2014 Suspended Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon gets job as car salesman - ESPN The CFL wasn't an alternative to playing in the NFL this year, so recently banned Browns receiver Josh Gordon landed a new job -- as the goodwill ambassador for the Sarchione Auto group in Ohio, souces told ESPN's Josina Anderson. The 23-year-old star receiver will work in all aspects of the Randolph, Ohio-based dealer group's car business, including as an on-floor salesman. Gordon will also be heading all of Sarchione's local community efforts, including with the Wounded Warrior Project. He is scheduled to start this weekend. Glad he'll be keeping himself busy
Vin+ 3,121 Posted September 5, 2014 Appearing on NBC's NFL Kickoff 2014, Profootballtalk's Mike Florio reported Josh Gordon and Wes Welker's suspensions could be reduced or "go away completely" if the NFL and NFLPA agree on a new drug policy. The sides have been trying to hammer out an agreement that would allow testing for HGH. As a concession, the league would then raise the threshold for a positive marijuana test, and move amphetamines from the PED policy to substance-abuse policy. First-team substance abuse violations do not mandate a suspension. The situation is still very much up in the air, but it appears Gordon is worth stashing. Vin+ 3,121 Posted September 6, 2014 Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reports a "tentative agreement" over the use of third-party arbitration for appeals of PED and HGH violations that were not caused by a positive test has been reached. In other words, Roger Goodell would give up the power to unilaterally rule on suspension appeals related to situations like the BALCO or Biogenesis cases. Though this agreement clears one major hurdle in the negotiation process, the two sides still need to hash out how to deal with players charged with but not convicted of DUIs. Even though obstacles remain, the general feeling is a deal is close, with one source telling Pro Football Talk, "I'm expecting an announcement at any time." BLUE 1,026 Posted September 11, 2014 Per Rotoworld.com: FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo predicts an eight-game suspension for Josh Gordon if the NFL and NFLPA agree to a new drug policy. Garafolo's "educated guess" is based on information from a variety of sources. Garafolo emphasizes that things are changing "minute to minute." ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported the sides would like to reach an agreement by Thursday evening, but it's not considered a slam dunk. BLUE 1,026 Posted September 13, 2014 Per Rotoworld.com: ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms Josh Gordon's suspension is expected to be reduced from 16 to 10 games under the NFL's new drug policy. The drug policy has not yet been formally agreed upon, but all signs point to a deal being hammered out shortly. Schefter's report confirms the initial story from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gordon isn't going to be eligible to play until Week 12, and based on coach Mike Pettine's comments from today, it sounds like the Browns aren't even entirely sure he'll rejoin them then.
