FartWaffles 1,857 Posted September 1, 2014 Per: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/7696/case-keenum Rams claimed QB Case Keenum off waivers from the Texans. Waived by Houston, which decided to go with Ryan Mallett and rookie Tom Savage behind Ryan Fitzpatrick, 26-year-old Keenum is a natural fit behind Shaun Hill in St. Louis with a similar skill set. Keenum is sneaky athletic and willing to throw into tight windows, though he was slow to learn the Texans' offense last year. If 34-year-old Hill's performance goes south, we wouldn't be at all surprised to see Keenum make starts in the Gateway City. Keenum finished 2013 with a 9:6 TD-to-INT ratio across eight starts, though he completed only 54.2 percent of his throws and fumbled six times, losing two. We'd still expect Keenum to pass Austin Davis on the depth chart within a month or so. I hope he finds success in St. Louis. He looked about as good as you can trying to clean up that disaster in Kubiak's offense last year, but clearly he struggled picking up O'Brien's. If he can clean up his two biggest faults (blitz pickup, eyeing down his receivers) he has the skillset to be a solid quarterback in this league. At the very least a trustworthy backup. RazorStar 4,025 Posted September 1, 2014 This is a solid pickup for the Rams. Unfortunately, Keenum has a significant disadvantage now that he can't throw the ball to Andre every play.
KempBolt 498 Posted September 1, 2014 Good pickup. I thought Keenum looked pretty decent last year.
CampinWithaMissingPerson 2,025 Posted September 2, 2014 Definitely in the "why not?" category. Best of luck and PLEASE STEDMAN BAILEY STOP GETTING SUSPENDED BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO BE GOOD.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted October 28, 2014 Rams waived QB Case Keenum. The move clears a roster spot for trade acquisition Mark Barron. Keenum had yet to be active as the Rams' No. 3 quarterback this season. They'll go forward with Austin Davis and Shaun Hill. Keenum showed play-making ability in 2013. He should resurface as someone's No. 3.
