BLUE 1,026 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Monday that Jamaal Charles has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. We're considering Charles "week to week" moving forward, but there are indications Charles' high ankle sprain is on the mild side of the usual 4-6 week timetable. Knile Davis will step in as Kansas City's every-down back in the meantime. He'll be a legit RB1 for as much time as Charles misses. Charles' fantasy owners need to sit tight and keep him rostered as an injured RB3. Sep 15 - 1:11 PM Source: Lindsay Jones on Twitter Chiefs coach Andy Reid says Jamaal Charles' high-ankle sprain "doesn't look to be a real severe one." "But it does have the component of a high-ankle sprain," Reid added in fluent coachspeak. Regardless of Reid's remarks, high-ankle sprains are multi-week injuries, and typically require at least a month's absence. If Charles can come back sooner, the Chiefs may have been stretching the definition of "high-ankle sprain," much like the Bills seemed to do with C.J. Spiller in 2013. Either way, fantasy owners should plan on being without Charles for at least the rest of September. Backup Knile Davis is this week's top waiver add. Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted September 19, 2014 Charles (ankle) was a limited practice participant Thursday, ESPN's Adam Teicher reports. Charles' availability for Sunday's game against the Dolphins remains uncertain at this stage, but his return to the field Thursday is a good sign, in any case, given reports that he had suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2. More on Charles' status no later than Friday, but at this stage things are trending in a positive direction for the running back. From an ESPN Fantasy update. Andy Reid won't rule Charles out yet, and it seems like his limited practice yesterday went well. We're going to hear more today and tomorrow. I doubt he plays this week, but I definitely think if he keeps practicing, their going to let him play in week 4.
