butta54 371 Posted October 21, 2014 That O-line is the key to success in Dallas, not Romo. The team is all-around stacked offensively. Tony Romo was never "great". If he was "great" he'd already have rings. He is good; and with a team finally around him, he looks better. Cowboys still have no defense though. That offense is just so good that it masks the defense. Murray kills clock and gives the defense fewer opportunities to die. Are the Ravens going to run away with the AFC North? Nah I think when the Bengals get a little more healthy they are a legit contender. AJ Green coming back will be a big difference. Could the Seahawks beat the Packers if they played this week? If not....why was it a one-sided game Week 1?
BJORN 679 Posted October 22, 2014 Of course, I think they match up well against the Packers. But I'll answer the second question as to why it was one-sided anyway. First game of the season, in Seattle......they were always going to come out motivated. And we have all seen what the Seahawks are capable of in such situations. I think a second match up would be closer as maybe Green Bay comes out with an actual game plan. How many games do the Patriots win down this tough 7 game stretch? Chi, Den, @Indy, Det, @GB, @SD, Miami And do you think they are contenders or just good?
Cherry 1,302 Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) 2 or 3. The patriots are good but they don't have the firepower to beat offensive juggernauts. Miami and Chicago should be easy wins based on the disorganization in those squads. Denver will probably go to the Broncos because Peyton will smother almost any team & Pats running game is particularly weak. Indy is no doubt a Luck-a-thon. Detroit is a toss-up and it really depnds on which Lions team shows up. Green Bay will go to Packers cause A-Rod is playing nuts right now. Same with San Diego. Therefore, Pats leave this stretch around 7-7 or 8-6. Is A-Rod, Rivers, or Luck the best QB in the league right now? Obviously Luck has a lot of football left to play, but right now Aaron Rodgers is one of the most efficient QB's ever. He already has a ring. Stop it. Best coach in the league right now, who ya got? Belichick? Payton? Carroll?
BwareDWare94 723 Posted October 23, 2014 Bruce Arians. I'm serious. The guy is winning with players in key positions that would lead to 5-11 and 6-10 finishes in the hands of other coaches. He's also doing some unique things that make his players and assistant coaches continually want to work for him. He doesn't make anybody pull any overnight shit as a coaching staff. One of his priorities, supposedly, is that everybody goes home every night. Simple things like that can make a huge difference. How much does playoff success and rings really matter in terms of how we view quarterbacks? Guys like Eli and Flacco have rings, 2 of them for Eli, but neither is a top 10 quarterback, to be completely frank. Then you've got great quarterbacks like Brees, who just like a certain other #9, fill up the stat sheet but can't carry their team to the playoffs when other areas aren't performing up to snuff.
Cherry 1,302 Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) A quarterback cannot win a super bowl on his own, but if he cannot get his team to the playoffs at least, he is not that good. Rings are important for a QBs legacy, but not his skill while playing. Who will be the best free-agent to hit the market? Two elite QBs, one great quarterback. They can't do it. When they've ever been in playoffs, they've had other things going well for their teams. CJ Spiller. I think he makes a huge splash somewhere else where he's utilized better. Who hires Rex Ryan this offseason?

If they have something with Derek Carr they could have a good football team in a few years. He could come be the Eagles DC if he wanted too though Gio Bernard or Andre Ellington? Cherry 1,302 Posted October 24, 2014 As a change of pace? Andre. As a workhorse? Gio. Who will lead the NFL in passing yards? What will be their stats?
RazorStar 4,025 Posted October 24, 2014 I'm gonna take the boring answer and go with Andrew Luck. I'll say 5250 passing yards, 40 TDs, 15 INTs, and 675 throws. Because even in blowouts, he throws the ball about 35 times a game. More when they need his throws. Who can beat Dallas right now in the NFC?
Thanatos 2,847 Posted October 25, 2014 Green Bay, the Packers and the Cheeseheads. That's the only team I'd pick against Dallas, but who *can*? GB, Philly, Arizona, and Detroit once Megatron gets back. On a related topic: Who wins the NFC North?
Cherry 1,302 Posted October 25, 2014 Packers by a landslide. How many games til ARod throws a pick?
