Vin+ 3,121 Posted October 29, 2014 Jaguars placed CB Alan Ball on injured reserve with a bicep injury, ending his season. Ball hurt the bicep in Week 7 against the Browns. He likely tore the muscle. Dwayne Gratz and Demetrius McCray are the starters on the outside for the Jaguars. Slot CB Will Blackmon is also hurt, so second-year CB Jeremy Harris will fill in as the No. 3. Ball was a top-19 cover corner in Pro Football Focus' rankings in 2013, but was near the bottom of the list through eight weeks this season. He's scheduled to be a free agent in the spring. Jaguars signed CB Tommie Campbell. Campbell (6-foot-3, 198) has the length coach Gus Bradley likes in his corners. The former seventh-round pick was seen as an up-and-comer for the Titans as recently as last season, but couldn't take hold of a starting job, let alone a roster spot, over summer. The Jaguars are severely banged up at cornerback.
CampinWithaMissingPerson 2,025 Posted October 30, 2014 Sucks, but McCray is a good fallback. Wonder who's gonna play nickel. Could be Sherrod Martin (who's a safety.) In a couple weeks 4th round pick Aaron Colvin can be activated to the roster and he's honestly their planned nickel of the future so we'll see. He's coming back off the ACL.
