BC 331 Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) Todd Bowles, Rob Ryan, Darrell Bevel, Hue Jackson, Adam Gase are apparently your top 5 HC prospects. Bowles should be every teams' #1 choice. He's been a GOAT the last couple years, getting the Cardinals to play well as banged up as they've been and as tough a division they play in. We've all sat here pulling our hair out trying to figure out what makes the Cardinals tick so well. I don't know much about his schemes or anything like that, but it sounds like Bowles is about to make it big time. I would pass on Darrell Bevel as a HC. That's a set up for failure and a very misleading prospect. 2. The coach: Todd Bowles, defensive coordinator, Arizona Cardinals Recent history: Bowles grew as a coach during his time as a secondary coach in Cleveland but got his big break in Miami, where he was named the assistant head coach and, eventually, interim coach in 2011. From there, Bowles made a stop in Philadelphia and is now with Arizona as a defensive coordinator. Reason for optimism: Bowles has the pedigree that players respect; an undrafted free agent who carved out a seven-year career in the NFL. Born in New Jersey and discovered out of Temple, Bowles has had to fight for just about everything he's earned in the league. As far as his resume goes, he's paid his dues. Bowles also has some interim head coaching experience on his records (theDolphins finished 2-1 under him that season). Why now?: The Cardinals have a top-five run defense, and, although their numbers against the pass must improve (Arizona is currently dead last in the league against the pass), Bowles is sitting on one of the hottest coaching staffs in football right now. The Bruce Arians way is in demand, and Bowles has a front-row seat. He's also young (50), energetic and smart enough to have surrounded himself with great people over the years. 1. RazorStar 4,025 Posted October 31, 2014 Bowles and Gase are probably the top two candidates, however I have a feeling Bowles is just gonna be a rooney rule candidate and not seriously considered.
seanbrock 1,684 Posted October 31, 2014 Hue Jackson deserves another shot. He was fired from Oakland way too soon.
Cherry 1,302 Posted October 31, 2014 Hue has been creative no doubt but he hasn't done good enough to deserve a head coaching shot. He has taken too many risks and got really fucking lucky. Remember the play where BWW nearly decapitated Andy until he shit himself about hitting a QB? It's like every game Hue does a trick play that either results in a 30 yard gain or barely escapes being a turnover. He also has a tendency to fall away from the run on many instances. Has he done good with limited offensive talent? Yes. Is he too erratic to be a head coach? Also yes.
