There were multiple casualties, but Johnson is expected to be OK. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/574611939361341441 https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/574612527620878336 Johnson, 29, is a free agent not expected back with the Jets next season after his option was not picked up by the team — a move that was made prior to this incident. He was a first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2008 and is the league's fifth-leading active rusher with 8,628 yards, having rushed for 2,006 yards in 2009. BwareDWare94 723 Posted March 10, 2015 May his friend rest in piece. Hope he truly is OK. There's a role for this guy somewhere. I honestly think Dallas should ink him up if Murray leaves. Imagine Chris Johnson behind that line...
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted July 17, 2015 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4743/chris-johnson CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora "wouldn't be shocked" if the Cowboys sign free agent Chris Johnson. After speaking to NFL executives, La Canfora says he could envision Johnson latching on with running back-needy Dallas "at some point during training camp or the regular season." Turning 30 in September, Johnson has recovered from injuries suffered in an offseason drive-by shooting, and is reportedly being monitored by multiple teams. Johnson's weight dropped to 180 after the incident. He's back into the 200s, recently training at Jay Glazer's gym.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted August 14, 2015 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4743/chris-johnson The Cardinals will put free agent Chris Johnson through a workout and physical on Sunday. The news comes from Jay Glazer, who trained with CJ?K following his early-offseason drive-by shooting. If Johnson checks all the boxes medically and physically, we suspect the Cardinals will sign him immediately.
BwareDWare94 723 Posted August 15, 2015 Why? They have Ell and David Johnson...
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted August 15, 2015 Because having a much worse back is apparently a good thing. Nah, they are probably just doing their due diligence.
Turry 755 Posted August 15, 2015 David Johnson is not a running back. WR playing RB.
56AceInDaPlace 110 Posted August 15, 2015 Why? They have Ell and David Johnson... Ellington is often injured. Cards are just bringing in someone to try at the RB position. Chris Johnson has known to stay uninjured. If he is decent that's good enough.
Dutch 874 Posted August 15, 2015 Yeah. The Cards could use some depth at the RB position. Johnson is at a point in his career that no one is expecting anything spectacular from him; or to even carry the load of a starting Rb. He can provide depth in a RBC role. It's not a bad move for the Cards. For excitement purposes, one could hope for some type of resurgence. But I wouldn't count on it.
