Dutch 874 Posted July 28, 2015 Very solid list. I like it a lot actually. I forgot about Julius Thomas. I think he will be a security blanket for Bortles.
BwareDWare94 723 Posted July 28, 2015 There is no way another NFC North CB is going to outplay Xavier Rhodes. Otherwise, I agree with most everything except I'd swap Foster for Lynch.

Can't believe I forgot about Lynch...I would definitely put him in the top 5. Hayward is my homer pick but he has been pretty great playing as the nickel. His targets have been extremely low, only targeted 26 times all last season. Now this is in the slot, and how we plays outside remains to be determined. I predicting/hoping he can perform just as well outside. His only problem last season was run defense and tackling. We'll see

I predicting/hoping he can perform just as well outside. His only problem last season was run defense and tackling. We'll see Casey was PFF's best CB in the NFC North last year... on 400 snaps. Granted you coul dmake the argument that more snaps means more opportunity to get beat and thus a lower grade... There is only one corner in the top 30 who played so few snaps and graded so well (Although sitll two full points lower). Also.. PFF rated Casey as a Top 15 corner when it comes to run D.. again, in fewer snaps than everybody ahead of him. Run grade per snap, he is the best in the league. BwareDWare94 723 Posted July 28, 2015 Well, PFF was wrong lol. Xavier Rhodes was definitively better than any other corner in the North by the end of the season. Don't get me wrong, I like Hayward and Slay, but the eye test has to have a say.
Packers Dynasty 2010 116 Posted July 28, 2015 My apologies Bware, you are always correct. PFF must be wrong. F4E-watching Hayward play, his smaller frame causes him to struggle at tackling at times. 7 missed tackles last season I believe in fewer snaps. It's nothing horrible but there is room to improve.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted July 28, 2015 Missed tackles aren't good obviously and you are right.. it is something to improve on -- but a lot of his tackles from what I remember came on him trying to make up for somebody else's mistake. So.. Ya, you want him to make the tackle, but there could be worse things. He was drafted as a mini Woodson and he's done exactly that... Not as good at finding those holes on blitzes, but he's still young. He is always willing to throw his body around to at least try making the tackle. Unlike Tramon Williams who would rather resort to the fetal position rather than lay a hit or get hit.And Bware, I wouldn't totally disagree with you... He is (again according to PFF) one of the worst corners in the league in run D. Is that something you would agree with or are you dissenting on that too? For the pure amount of snaps he played, I wouldn't exactly argue with you if you said he was the best cover corner in the division.
