Vin+ 3,121 Posted October 7, 2015 ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the league is discussing the idea of reducing the preseason from four games to three. It's unclear how far along the idea/proposal is. Cutting a preseason game would hurt fringe roster types, but would likely be favored by coaches and most veterans. The fourth preseason game is mostly just a glorified exercise in trying to avoid injury. At this point, it exists almost solely for financial reasons.
